The objective of Metsä Group was to reach better results with more effective processes and better accessible information. For this objective they wanted a partner to define and develop an overall purchase and supply-processes information system to support these processes. The partner also needed to be able to bring innovativeness into system development and a commitment to the mutual goals. In selecting a partner the references and experience of the key resources were also assessed.
In a project lasting over a year and a half, Fenix Solutions implemented a Microsoft Dynamics 365 technology-based purchasing process and supply-management solution for Metsä Group.
LARGE-SCALE PROCESS AND BUSINESS BENEFITS WITH SRM SOLUTION
The general objectives of this project were to speed up the distribution of the capital fixed in the purchases and to improve quality. ‘The mutual goal for everyone working on this project was to make this a better solution than any other in the field, and to bring into it their own know-how and ideas. The objective of Metsä Group was to obtain these immediate business-process benefits as well as financial benefits, and these have already been obtained during the project,’ explains Ismo Somero, Director, Head of Development and Purchasing Services / Metsä Group.

‘Microsoft Dynamics 365 worked as a technical base for the solution. We are proud of this unique solution in which the multitude of solutions is united to a whole, greater than the sum of its parts. I haven’t seen anything like this before. With the whole system the suppliers, contracts, categories, and competitive tendering, as well as purchase processes are managed,’ tells Mika Vääräniemi, Chief Technology Officer / Fenix Solutions.
